Pregnancy
Being pregnant is not always a pretty picture of a smiling birth and a perfectly round tummy as many of us suffer from round ankles and wrists to accompany that tummy along with a whole host of other issues—both emotional and physical.
There are no rule books to say what a pregnancy should feel like and you will have no way of knowing how your body will react until you are pregnant. Perhaps the strangest part of all is that no two pregnancies are the same so the experience you have with one pregnancy may be totally different to your next.
Being pregnant is a mixture of excitement, anticipation and fear! The first thing to do is to make sure you really are pregnant by going to see a doctor to get confirmation. Once you are sure you are pregnant it is time to start planning ahead as there are lots of things to take into consideration but above all, your and your baby’s health should take priority.
Pregnancy lasts for nine months but some women may go into labour late and others give birth prematurely due to a medical reason where the birth is brought on early by medication or other causes. Multiples are often born before nine months and labour can last from just a few minutes through to days on end, although the average length of time is around 12 hours. Pregnancy for first-time mothers is often more daunting than for those who have experienced the process before, but the happiness felt after labour never changes.
