Ultrasound Pregnancy
An important part of a healthy pregnancy is your health checks and ultrasound plays a big part in identifying any problems with your baby or yourself. Ultrasound pregnancy checks are a normal routine during pregnancy as it allows doctors to check on the health status of your unborn baby.
You are also able to take away stills of the images caught on the ultrasound and technology now enables parents to take away video images that are created by using a collection of stills that are then formed into a moving image.
This allows parents to form a bond with their unborn baby as well as to learn about the baby’s sex and when they are due to enter the world. You do not have to find out the sex of the baby if you don’t want to know as it is hard for a non-trained eye to accurately say what the sex is from a scan picture.
Ultrasound pregnancy techniques should only be used as part of the medical exams that are often done three times throughout a pregnancy. Of course, not every pregnancy is the same but experts warn that ultrasound should only be performed for medical reasons rather than just as a means of getting a keepsake.
Ultrasound pregnancy checks are surrounded by much speculation but there is no proof that ultrasound in any way harms mother or baby and it is highly advisable to have ultrasound scans during the recommended 18 and 22 week periods.
